Xero is a New Zealand-founded cloud accounting software company focused on small businesses, accountants and bookkeepers. Its platform records financial transactions and connects business owners with professional advisers through shared, online data. Xero operates in multiple markets and adapts features such as tax, payroll and bank feeds to local requirements, while maintaining a common subscription-based product.

The software covers invoicing, bills, bank reconciliation, cash-flow views, financial reporting, expenses, projects, inventory and fixed assets. Payroll is available in selected countries. Xero was founded in Wellington in 2006 by Rod Drury and Hamish Edwards. Xero listed on the New Zealand Exchange in 2007 and later moved its primary listing to the Australian Securities Exchange. It has expanded through direct growth, partnerships and acquisitions across business payments, workforce and reporting technology.
